100 Mile Challenge—September

During this physical activity challenge, participants set a goal to walk 100 miles. This program is great for those who are currently physically inactive.

Great American Smoke Out—November

Every year, on the third Thursday of November, smokers across the nation take part in the American Cancer Society Great American Smokeout event. By quitting – even for 1 day – smokers will be tak-ing an important step toward a healthier life and reducing their cancer risk.

Don’t Fry-Day—Summer

The Friday before Memorial Day has been designated “Don’t Fry Day” to encourage sun safety awareness and to remind everyone to protect their skin while enjoying the outdoors.

Mission to the Moon - Ongoing

Our mission is to have the community as a whole travel 240,000 miles (the distance from the earth to the moon) by walking, running, cycling, jogging, skating, or whatever physical activity you would like to do! Community mileage (a collective total) will be displayed at the top of the www.missiontothemoon.net  homepage so that you can see our community progress! Every little bit counts, so get moving Christian County! 

 

Kick Butts Day

National Kick Butts Day is a national day of activism that empowers youth to stand out, speak up and seize control against Big Tobacco. Coordinate with the Christian County Health Department to organize a Kick Butts Day event at your school or facility!
